It’s that part of summer again. Time to celebrate our independence with fireworks and cookouts! We wish everyone a safe and happy Independence Day! In observance of the holiday, Federal Direct will be close tomorrow, July 4th, and Friday, July 5th. The office will reopen on Monday July 8th at 9 am.

Just a reminder that tomorrow, 4/20/2013 is the last day to timely file returns that were previously rejected. Also, be sure not to cause undue alarm to your clients that are getting refunds; there is no late filing penalty for filing a return after 4/15 if you are claiming a refund!

The IRS has made official that they will be delaying the start of the electronic filing season to 1/30/2013.  This relates to 1040, Individual tax returns.  The IRS also indicates that they expect additional delays associated with less common individual forms that they will be releasing a list of later.   We will keep you […]
